Throughout Northeast Ohio one in six people are food insecure, which means they may not know where their next meal will come from.

There are many families out there that do not have enough money to put food on the table. Does it seem right that a senior citizen struggling on a limited income, the bread winner losing their job or being struck by a medical catastrophe not have enough money to buy food?

Here are some stats to think about….

In the first 8 months of 2016 the Middleburg Heights Food Pantry served to residents of Middleburg Hts and members of Middleburg Hts churches more than 1,000 households with more than 2500 people.

SCAN Hunger Center serves parts of Berea, Brook Park, Columbia Township, Middleburg Hts, Olmsted Falls and Strongsville.   All of 2015 they served more than 1400 families with 18,800 plus people.

So, as you can imagine, I want to make this annual food drive bigger and better than the last.  With all your generous donations in 2015 we collected more than 1600 pounds of food and $1500.00 in cash

I’m gearing up for my 7th Annual Food Drive and I need your help

I’m committed to do something about it…..to do that I’m asking for your help.

As the need of our community grows during these challenging economic times, it’s people like you that make these Food Pantries successful in helping thousands of people in need.  The drive has officially started and will end on October 28th.

Whether it’s food, non food items or monetary donations I’ll be happy to pick them up at your office or you can drop off your donations to my place of business at 6886 Pearl Road in Middleburg Heights.

I’m so excited as I really enjoy giving back to the community.  Thank you, to all that were so supportive last year.

Sincerely,

Bob Kovacevic
